6 Fun Ways to Entertain Your Kids This New Year’s Eve
If you are planning a New Year’s Eve party at your home for your friends and family, you may be wondering how you can keep all the kids entertained while you enjoy some grown-up time. Well, we have a few suggestions to help you enjoy your evening without stressing about the kids.
Treats & Sweets
Do you have leftover Christmas chocolates and treats? Why not organize a treasure hunt for the little ones? Whether it is inside only or allow them to venture around the garden, this is a great way to keep the kids entertained while adding in a bit of exercise to rid some of that energy.
Games
Board games are always a winner. Set up a designated area around your kitchen counter or in your lounge and allow the kids to go crazy with different board games. Boardgames allow kids to be imaginative and competitive and are sure to keep them busy for a few hours! Make it more engaging by setting up a tournament as an incentive to keep them interested and providing awards for those who win each round or game!
Bake
Who doesn’t enjoy baking? Make this fun for the kids by creating a family bake-off competition. Teenagers would be more than capable of following a simple baking recipe, but if you are dealing with little ones, you can set up a little decorating station for them to decorate the finished product with smarties, icing, food colouring or sprinkles! Allow them to be creative and have fun with it, you can even eat the baked goods afterward as a fun reward. Worry about the mess later or tomorrow!
Get Crafty
Arts and crafts will also be a fun activity to get the kids involved in. Again, set a designated space for the activity to take place. Grab some cheap and cheerful arts and crafts from the closest store, such as colourful paper, glitter, glue, beads, colouring pencils, pens, markers, and paint. You can even pre-organize a certain project for them to do to save you time on the night.
Tie-Dye
Tie-Dye has made a comeback in the last few years, so why not get the kids a tie-dye kit? Ask everyone to bring a plain white item of clothing, new or old, and let them create cool and funky tie-dye designs.
Movie Marathon
Create a fun movie marathon experience. Give your living space a bit of a makeover to make it even more exciting for the kids. Make sure there is lots of popcorn, cool drinks and fairy lights to create the perfect movie atmosphere. You can even end the night with a movie marathon once the kids are finished with another fun activity, allowing them to wind down before bedtime.
There are many ways of keeping the kids busy this New Year’s Eve. Just do a little bit of pre-planning and you are good to go. The kids will love you and you will have a stress-free night, too.
